Character Background and Description
Lyla Ashford, 25 years of age, owns her bakery on the Street of Flour where she plies her trade that was passed down from generation to generation. She is a petite woman, about five feet four inches, who cares for two children day in and day out alongside her work. Her hair a dark cocoa hue, the length sitting gently on her shoulders. She has eyes just like her mother, Kayla Ashford, a bright brown that seem to twinkle every time she smiles. Her very presence is uplifting to those who visit her busy shop; she’s been complimented quite often on her positive outlook despite her solo work. She is very inviting when it comes to customers, however she can be quite protective of her two children, Remy and Kyle, ever since the kidnapping of their father. The shop, The Breadline, is well kept by her and her two children; constantly dusted and cleaned to provide those in the area with the best bread. Her signature seller is her baguettes, loaded with freshness and a crispy finish. She can often be seen wearing a light azure dress, and white apron that is often covered in flour. Early mornings before the shop is open, she cleans her workspace and puts everything in order. Remy and Kyle often jokes she has “a million other things to do”, which isn’t far off as she’s motivated to be quite famous in King’s Landing. From day to day she is a caring mother who is never beaten down by the amount of work. One day she hopes to own a bigger shop that she can pass on to her children.
